Cause of death confirmed for man found Tuesday on Rabbit Ears Pass

Steamboat Springs — Routt County Coroner Rob Ryg on Wednesday confirmed Sean F. Ryan's death was a suicide. The Steamboat Springs resident's body was found Tuesday night by a group of his family and friends in the wilderness surrounding Rabbit Ears Pass after an extensive two-day search. Ryan, 49, was reported missing by his wife Sunday afternoon.

Suicide is a "manner of death" and not a "cause of death." I'm sure your news is very comforting to family and friends. Nice job all around.
