— The Hayden Town Council has four seats up for election this fall, including mayor.

Town Clerk Melisa Owens said candidates interested in running for council have until Aug. 27 to return the petitions they need to get on the ballot.

Council members up for election include Bill Hayden, Richard “Festus” Hagins, Tom Rogalski and Mayor Jim Haskins.

Haskins, Rogalski and Hayden said Thursday that they haven't decided whether to seek re-election in the Nov. 6 election.

Hagins could not immediately be reached for comment.

Owens said Hayden residents interested in running for Town Council can pick up a petition form from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from noon to 4 p.m. Fridays at Town Hall.

To earn a spot on the ballot, a candidate for the council needs the signatures of 25 registered Hayden voters. Mayoral candidates need 30 signatures.
