— A Steamboat Springs man is suspected of burglarizing a Steamboat home and taking marijuana plants and prescription drugs.

Steven C. Burch, 29, was arrested Friday morning on suspicion of second-degree burglary, possession of a controlled substance and theft. Steamboat Springs Police Department Detective Stuart Hutton said that the investigation is ongoing and that additional charges might be filed.

The burglary at 1360 Indian Trail No. 3 was reported Thursday afternoon, and Hutton said police found evidence that allowed them to arrest Burch, who lists an address on Indian Trails. He said it is suspected the burglary occurred July 27.

According to court records, Burch did not see a judge Friday, so he will remain in Routt County Jail through the weekend. His bond likely will be set Monday.

Rhys We do not have home burglaries in Steamboat every day. How is this any different than if he had broken into a multimillion dollar home and stolen jewelery? I would have given the burglar a bottle of ibuprofen for nothing. How is the venture with the Texan you met going?
