Sincere condolences to the family and friends of Frank Puckett, who recently died. A memorial service was held last week in Hayden.

Get well wishes to Gretchen Hayes, who has been ill for several weeks and is in the hospital in Steamboat.

Get well wishes to Julie Redmond, who had shoulder surgery a couple of weeks ago and is home recovering.

Happy birthday wishes to Jenna Kleckler, Lissa Hoza, Jerry Delay and Sophia Archuleta.

Anniversary wishes to Milburn and Carolyn Markle.

Treysen Frentress announced his arrival into the world April 12. The little guy weighed in at 7 pounds, 3 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. Treysen’s parents are Amy and Tim Frentress Jr., and he has a big brother, Brody. His grandparents are Dale and Becky Appel, of Steamboat Springs; and Tim and Tena Frentress, of Hayden.

There was a good turnout for the Routt County 4-H Scholarship Foundation fundraiser at the Hayden Granary last week. A nice dinner was served, and several stayed and danced.

The Hayden prom and after-prom party will be held Saturday at the Haven Community Center. The after-prom committee is accepting monetary donations or door prizes for the party. If you would like to donate, drop off your donation at the high school.

If you want to learn about the history of Brown’s Park, call Lindsay at the Colorado Northwestern Community College office at 970-276-7291 to register for the class. Tim Frentress Sr. will teach the class. Students will study petroglyphs, see stage stations and more on the field trip to Brown’s Park. The evening lectures will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at the Hayden Public Library, and the all-day field trip will be Saturday.

South Routt

Prom at Lake Catamount was a great success last weekend. Everybody had a grand time.

The Historical Society Ladies High Tea is just around the corner. Be sure to save the date of May 5 and arrive at 2 p.m. at the South Routt Community Center. Put on your fancy hat and gloves, and be ready to enjoy tea, finger foods and scrumptious desserts. There will be entertainment and silent auction items.

The Soroco track team will head to Moffat County for a track meet at noon Friday. The team then will head to West Grand for a meet at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

The middle school track team will be headed to East Grand for a 9 a.m. meet Saturday.
