There is a recommended donation of $3 per lunch for those 60 and older and $6 for those younger than 60. A $30 punch card is good for 10 lunches for seniors 60 and older or five lunches for those younger than 60. Find detailed menus at www.rccoaging.org. Yoga fundraiser benefits sustainability program
The Yoga Center of Steamboat’s fourth annual Yoga Day fundraiser will benefit the Yampa Valley Sustainability Council’s Sustainable Schools Program. Yoga teachers will donate classes and local businesses will donate raffle and other items for the event May 20. Classes will be at Bud Werner Memorial Library and the Yoga Center of Steamboat. Prescription Drug Take Back Day is on April 28
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 28 at the Steamboat Springs Police Department. The event is sponsored by the Steamboat Springs Police Department, Grand Futures Prevention Coalition and Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide. Bring unused over-the-counter and prescription medications to be disposed. Items that will not be accepted include: needles and sharps, mercury thermometers, oxygen containers, chemotherapy/radioactive substances, pressurized canisters and illicit drugs. Aging Well program will host celebration of tai chi
The Aging Well program at the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association will host a celebration of the wellness benefits of tai chi from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. April 28 at Library Hall at Bud Werner Memorial Library. The event will feature a group tai chi practice with Aging Well instructors and a demonstration of the healing and meditative practice of qigong with instructor Sarah Braat.
