Steamboat baseball wins 2 in Paonia on Saturday


— The Steamboat Springs High School baseball team picked up a pair of wins Saturday in Paonia, winning the first game, 12-9, and the second one, 12-5. 

A trio of hitting stars led Steamboat (6-7 overall, 2-4 in the Western Slope League) on Saturday. 

Thomas Kelly hit a home run in each game and went 6 for 9 on the day with eight RBIs. 

Billy Clark went 8 for 10 and scored five runs while Justin Ditter was 6 for 9 in the doubleheader. 

The team next plays a doubleheader Saturday at Eagle Valley. The first game begins at 11 a.m.
