Steamboat Ride 4 Yellow registration now open
Wednesday, April 4, 2012
Steamboat Springs Registration opened this week for the third annual Ride 4 Yellow, a 26-mile mountain bike fundraiser for local and global cancer-related initiatives. The 2012 Ride 4 Yellow is scheduled for July 28. As in previous years, the ride is limited to the first 200 registered participants. For a limited time, registration is $50. The cost increases to $100 once the first 50 riders have signed up.
Riders commit to raising $250 for cancer causes, down from $500 in previous years. Half of all proceeds will go to Livestrong, and the other half will be granted to Yampa Valley-based cancer causes.
The event features a 26-mile singletrack ride on the Continental Divide Trail, beginning at Dumont Lake on Rabbit Ears Pass and continuing up and over Storm Peak before finishing at the base of Steamboat Ski Area.
A post-event party is at Slopeside Grill and will feature dinner, drinks, live music and dancing.
