Business lending seminar is Thursday in Steamboat
A free seminar about alternative business lending is from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday in Centennial Hall, 124 10th St. The forum, sponsored by the city of Steamboat Springs, Colorado Mountain College, the Colorado Enterprise Fund and Colorado Lending Source, will discuss lending options available to entrepreneurs and small-business owners outside of commercial banks. Poochy Paddle is Oct. 9 at Old Town Hot Springs
Old Town Hot Springs hosts a Poochy Paddle from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 9. Dogs and their owners are invited to the pool, where dogs can swim, jump, chase balls and even venture off the diving board. The lap pool will be closed immediately after the Poochy Paddle for a week-long cleaning. Call Shannon Lukens at 970-846-0119.
Library offering eBooks for members to download
Bud Werner Memorial Library now offers eBooks that can be downloaded onto members’ Amazon Kindles using OverDrive from the library’s website.
To download library eBooks onto a Kindle, simply browse the collection by navigating to www.steamboatlibrary.org/downloads and clicking on the link for “OverDrive.” Find an eBook and add it to your virtual book bag, proceed to checkout, enter your library card number, and click the “Get for Kindle” button. This action opens the Amazon.com website and you will be required to sign into your Amazon.com account. If your Kindle is not wireless enabled you can download eBooks to a USB thumb drive and load the book onto your Kindle using the thumb drive. If you have any questions or need assistance, contact the
