— A time has been announced for the Steamboat Springs High School soccer team’s second-round game against Air Academy.

Steamboat, which beat D’Evelyn, 1-0, on Thursday, will play Air Academy at 5 p.m. Saturday at District 20 Stadium on Liberty High School’s campus in Colorado Springs.

The third-seeded Kadets are 14-2 this season, bookending another impressive season with losses to Ponderosa and Cheyenne Mountain.

The two teams share no common opponents. However, Air Academy lost 2-1 to Cheyenne Mountain in the final regular season game of the year. Battle Mountain, which Steamboat went 1-1 against this season, beat Cheyenne Mountain, 4-2.

The Sailors, the 19th seed, will have their hands full. The Kadets play in one of the tougher Colorado Springs leagues and have 15 players with at least a goal. Sophomore Gannon Gardner leads Air Academy with 11 tallies.

The winner of the game plays the winner of No. 6 Pueblo Centennial and No. 11 Niwot on Nov. 1.
