Steamboat briefs: Old Town Hot Springs offers course on lifeguard training

Steamboat Springs Old Town Hot Springs is offering a lifeguard training course from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 5 to 6 and Nov. 12 to 13. Attendance is required for all four days. Participants must be 15 or older and must pass a pre-test. The cost is $150, and the class does not guarantee job placement at Old Town Hot Springs. Sign up at the hot springs’ front desk. Volunteers needed to help kids with their homework
Integrated Community is in need of volunteers to help children with their homework at the Boys & Girls Club of Steamboat Springs. Spanish speakers are preferred, and a passion for children is a must. Volunteer shifts are from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the club. Call Tatiana at 970-871-4599 for more information.
