Soroco football blanks Gilpin County on Friday

— The Soroco football team took care of business Friday night, setting up a huge showdown this week against West Grand.

The Rams blasted by Gilpin County, winning 48-0. The shutout was the first for the Rams varsity team since they shutout the Glenwood Springs junior varsity squad in 2007 before Soroco switched to 8-man football.

The win set the stage for a big game Friday between the Rams (5-1, 3-0) and West Grand (5-1, 3-0).

That game will start at 7 p.m. in Oak Creek.
