Steamboat Springs ■ 9 a.m. Saturday: Rams (7-4) vs. Hayden (6-5) and West Grand (3-8) in Kremmling
The Rams and the Tigers will square off for the second time this season Saturday as both schools take part in a triangular in Kremmling. Beating the home-standing Mustangs will be important for both. The Tigers won a previous matchup in three games while Soroco let one slip, falling in five.
Still, the real excitement will be the Routt County rivalry. Hayden couldn’t do much to slow a Rams offense operating near its peak a month ago in a match Soroco won in four games. Both teams have had their ups and downs since, but they come into the match hot. Hayden has won five of six while Soroco picked up a huge win last weekend, beating Paonia in five games. With a win, Hayden can show continued growth, while an undefeated weekend would be a big step toward a high league finish for Soroco.
