— The Soroco High School volleyball team picked up a much-needed league win Saturday in Paonia, downing the Eagles 3-2.

In a closely contested match, Soroco won, 26-24, 17-25, 27-25, 23-25, 16-14.

“We played really well,” Rams coach Kim Reeves said. “We limited our errors a lot and stayed neck and neck with them. Every game that we won came from behind. We’d be down by a few points and always come back.”

The Rams, 6-4, enter the final stretch of their league games. Considering the team has played close against just about every team, Reeves said she expects a big finish down the stretch.

“This team that we have this year doesn’t give up,” she said. “They know they can come back and win it every time. They have the confidence they can win.”

Soroco next plays a triangular Saturday in Kremmling against rivals West Grand and Hayden.
