■ Many Thanks Wendy! We are grateful for all of the things you have done to make Steamboat a better place.

■ Many congrats to you Wendy for your service both at the county and at the city. You have been a trooper and a huge balancing place in the county and city in all of your years. While we didn’t always agree on issues and many times did, your leadership has been of hero nature. Your balanced and thoughtful judgment will always be appreciated, best of luck in retirement, I don’t know if there is reprieve for us work-aholics, I hope you find yours. Keep your phone number as private as you want to, as we will all want to randomly question what you know about a certain thing.

I’ve been very impressed with what I’ve seen of Deb at City Council meetings. Smart choice.

Clarence Sterne bench

Wow! I never knew his name until now. Coach was all I ever heard anybody call him. Nice article and nice to see somebody cared enough to honor him with a plaque. I’m going to stop by and say hello next time I’m at Howelsen.

■ Something smells. Surprised the county gave them the funds without an audit.

housepoor

■ There was not time to do an audit before opening the school. And since there is completely new management then the question is whether the new can be trusted, not what happened under the old. And yes an audit is needed to find out if money was taken and to figure out a budget for the future.

Where ever Lorna is, she’s sporting a huge grin right now. What a nice tribute to a great gal. My hat’s off to everyone who made this happen for the 2nd consecutive year.

Medical marijuana editorial

■ Congratulations to the Steamboat Pilot for making their decision based on what is right rather than what is popular with the vocal minority. Everyone I know sees what is going on in this industry, and the fact that no one has made any effort to stop the fraud that is taking place is insane. Go away Mary Jane!

tshirtguy

■ Tshirtguy, your neighbors and their marijuana won’t go anywhere. Actually vote to ban medical marijuana centers and your neighbors will only increase their business. Think about it. The vote does not ban marijuana. It bans medical marijuana centers, which are the safe regulated way of dispensing our constitutionally protected right to use our meds.

Let’s vote to ban the Steamboat Pilot & Today’s Editorial Board.

DrGreenGenes

■ The is a very well-written and logical article. The vocal minority will have a very hard time logically arguing against simple facts such as the ridiculous notion that all of a sudden there has been an outbreak of debilitating illnesses requiring 6.2 percent of the population to need marijuana. So they will resort to “indignation” and name calling as a last resort to trying to hold on to their recreational use of an illegal substance.

■ Y’all can flap your gums and pound keys all day long, and the only things that could possibly change are where we have to go to get it, where it came from, and whether the town gets their cut.

highwaystar

■ Well stated. Well written. Spot on. I support legalization of marijuana. I hope that happens. But it is time this medical marijuana farce ends.
