Steamboat Springs The Tennis Center at Steamboat Springs again will host the best 12-and-younger tennis players in the state for a season-opening training camp.
Members of the United States Tennis Association’s Elite Team Colorado will go through drills and match play beginning Friday and concluding Sunday.
“The Tennis Center at Steamboat is a perfect place for us to get the kids ready for the extensive yearlong tournament schedule,” said Jason Colter, the USTA Colorado player development coach. “National competitions begin in January, and competition continues throughout the entire year.”
The team has a strong history in Steamboat.
Former high school standouts Jack Burger and Jamey Swiggart each played on the team. This year, Tamy Katthain and Teague and Tatum Burger are members of the team.
