The Steamboat Springs High School football team had three players named to the Western Slope All-League team.
Junior Ben Custer was the team’s lone first-team selection. Senior Evan Hornstein and junior Christian Ramirez were named to the honorable mention team.
Despite going 0-10, the three proved to be the most consistent players all season. The team rewards also reflected that.
Ramirez was voted the Offensive Player of the Year. Custer took home Defensive Player of the Year and the Iron Man Award.
“Ben Custer was recognized specifically because he rarely came off the field,” Steamboat coach Lonn Clementson said. “He was recognized the most in his blocking ability on roll outs. He also was the saltiest player we had on defense.”
Hornstein and Tyler Brown split the team special teams award, and Jake Manning was named Lineman of the Year.
