A ServSafe manager’s certification course for restaurant managers is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 29 in the Routt County Courthouse annex building on Sixth Street. The cost is $105 per person and includes training materials and an exam. The accompanying National Restaurant Association certification is valid for five years. The registration deadline for the course is Monday.
A Spanish-language employee food safety training course is from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 12 at the Routt County Courthouse annex. The cost is $30 per person and includes course materials and certificate. The registration deadline is Dec. 8.

Festival of Trees on display this week through Monday
The annual Tread of Pioneers Museum fundraiser features 14 hand-decorated Christmas trees. The trees will be on display from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Monday at the museum, 800 Oak St. Admission is free. One local business sponsors each tree, and after Monday, that tree will be moved to a location of the business’s choice.
Thanksgiving food basket registration deadline Friday
Hayden Congregational Church will distribute its annual Thanksgiving food baskets for Hayden families in need Sunday. Baskets must be reserved no later than Friday. Boots in the ’Boat sports club fundraiser is ongoing
Guess how many boots are in a gondola car as part of the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club Boots in the ’Boat fundraiser. The car will be at the Winter Sports Club office at Howelsen Hill from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Monday and Tuesday.
It will be at City Market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday. And it will be in Gondola Square from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday to Nov. 27.
At 2 p.m. Nov. 27, the gondola car will be opened, and the boots will be counted.
The cost is $5 for one guess or $25 for six guesses. The money will go to the Winter Sports Club and help with the general operations and day-to-day expenses of the club.
The top three prizes are a day of skiing for two with Steamboat Powdercats, a parking spot for the season in the Winter Sports Club parking lot at the Christie base and an iPad 2. The winner will get his or her choice of one of the prizes first.

The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association is offering adult day services at The Haven Assisted Living Center in Hayden for any disabled individual older than 18 or elderly individual looking for daily activities where oversight is provided. Free flu shots available for veterans at clinic in Craig
The Craig Telehealth Clinic hosts a flu shot clinic from 1 to 4 p.m. Fridays. All veterans are highly encouraged to get their annual flu shot, said nurse Cindy Dearden, flu shot coordinator.
