During the season of autumn, we are invited to take time to reflect on the many blessings of life and be grateful. Thursday night, people from varying faith communities are invited to join together in a sacred expression of thanksgiving. The multifaith group “Exploring the Sacred” has sponsored evenings of public dialogue for the past several years. For the first time in our community, we will now have a celebration of thanksgiving that invites the joining of hearts and hands across the lines of faith. Representatives from Buddhism, Islam, Judaism and Christianity will offer expressions of gratitude stemming from their own religious traditions. The celebration is at 6 p.m. Thursday at Library Hall and will be followed by a simple meal. With so much in the world that divides us, let us join together tonight in appreciation of life and all that we share together.
