Richard Rickerson: We need winners

Well, it is an interesting thought and revelation that our elected county officials clearly qualify for national office or elected position. They are whiners, and we need winners. They are in the elite group that feeds off the American tax system without accountability.

It took a week after the election to attack the taxpayer about their plight of income from the tax rolls and how they are poorly compensated. It is fortunate that the comparison presented indicates the pay disparity. One source of information, provided at http://www.city

-data.com/county/routt_county-co.html for the year 2009, shows the coroner is probably underpaid in relation to the current day and this location. The remaining elected positions are considerably above the average income for the county taxpayers who are paying these incomes. This only points out that the county management positions are further beyond the common employee’s average income. It is remarkable that an income comparison was not taken from Yuba County, Calif.

My suggestion for the worried folks that believe we need to throw more money and benefits at the elected and appointed county employees: move.
