South Routt School District to conclude search for board member
Wednesday, November 9, 2011
The South Routt School District will conclude its search for a replacement District 3 school board member Thursday.
Superintendent Scott Mader said District 3 residents who are interested in serving on the board must turn in a letter of interest to the district’s administrative office in Oak Creek by 4 p.m. to be considered for the position. The selected appointee will serve the remainder of former District 3 board member Willie Smith’s term, who in August left the school district to take another job in Killdeer, N.D. The District 3 seat covers Phippsburg and extends to parts of Stagecoach and Oak Creek.
Candidates for the position will be interviewed by the school board before it meets Nov. 17 and could be sworn in at that meeting along with new District 4 board member Jules Palyo and returning members Tim Corrigan and Brett Mason, Mader said.
Mader said Wednesday the district so far has received one letter of interest for the District 3 seat from Oak Creek resident Jamie Hoff. According to his letter to the district, Hoff has two children attending school in South Routt.
