The Record for May 24


2:41 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers found a man under a trailer in the 1800 block of Kamar Plaza. The man said he wanted to sleep there, but officers, suspecting he was drunk, took him to detox.

7:17 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a bike found in the 100 block of Lincoln Avenue.

7:44 a.m. Officers helped Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue emergency responders with a 56-year-old man who fell about 12 feet from a ladder to the ground. The man said he was going to go to the doctor on his own.

9 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a 52-year-old woman who was drunk and wanted to volunteer at the Steamboat Springs Community Center. At 12:48 p.m police helped emergency responders with the same woman, who was passed out on a bus at Seventh Street and Lincoln Avenue. She was taken to detox. At 10 p.m. the woman was having trouble breathing and was taken to the hospital.

9:22 a.m. Routt County Sheriff’s Office deputies trapped two stray cats in the first block of Schussmark Trail in Oak Creek.

10:45 a.m. Deputies were called to a report of five bags of trash dumped in the 39500 block of Soul Center Way.

12:19 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a cargo trailer that had been parked in front of a home in the 400 block of Eighth Street for several weeks. The trailer was tagged.

12:54 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a puppy in a small cage in a car in the 1000 block of Central Park Drive. The dog was gone when police arrived.

1:04 p.m. Officers were called to check on the welfare of a man with suspected mental health problems at 11th and Yampa streets. Police could not find the man.

1:24 p.m. A woman called police to report that she had lost her wallet after leaving it on the roof of her car at a gas station in the 500 block of South Lincoln Avenue and then driving to Craig.

2:59 p.m. Deputies were called to a report of a car speeding and passing on U.S. Highway 40 near Milner. Deputies could not find the car.

5:26 p.m. Officers helped emergency responders with a 55-year-old woman who felt faint on Hilltop Parkway. The woman was taken to the hospital.

11:32 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a bear attacking a bear-proof trash can in an alley between Seventh and Eighth streets. Officers chased the bear away.

11:37 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a disturbance between neighbors in the 200 block of Blue Sage Circle. A man reported that his puppy had chewed up the inside of his car, and he was yelling at his dog when his neighbor confronted him about the way he was treating his dog.

And we need to ban pot dispenseries? No discussion at all regarding the daily drunk count that is the The Record. No concern at all from our local police captain about this daily documented call on his resources.No call on the local alcohol dispenseries to act responsibly. To curtail there advertising, there "happy hours" and free drink give aways?

The RC Sheriff's had a busy day trapping 2 stray cats in Oak Creek.
