Steamboat Springs Colorado Mountain College’s Alpine Campus fitness walking class starts Monday. The class meets from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday and Thursday evenings through Aug. 11. Steamboat native makes dean’s list at CU Boulder
Erica Gale, a junior at the University of Colorado Boulder from Steamboat Springs, has made the College of Arts and Sciences dean’s list for the fall semester 2010. She is majoring in international relations with a minor in Italian and is completing a semester of study abroad at the University of Palma de Mallorca in Spain. The dean’s list requires that a student hold a 3.75 or better GPA and be enrolled in at least 12 graded credit hours of coursework for the given semester.
City summer camp’s early sign-up deadline Thursday
The city of Steamboat Springs Summer Camp registration is under way, and the early registration deadline is Thursday. The daily rate for camp is $32 if registered early. Starting Friday, the price goes up to $36 per day. Registration materials can be picked up at the Parks, Open Space and Recreational Services Department office, 245 Howelsen Parkway, or registration is available at www.steamboatsprings.net/recreation.
New this summer are four ASSET Camps open to children entering grades three through six. These one-week camps teach a specific skill set and include horseback riding, rock climbing, archery and fishing, and completing the Colorado Kid’s Bill of Rights. Registration is limited to the first 10 children. A half-day afternoon program will be available for children entering first grade who are enrolled in Club Invention from June 20 to 23. All daily summer camp programs will operate 7:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Monday through Friday from June 13 to Aug. 12. The Rocky Mountain Adventure Club will meet at the Igloo at 279 Howelsen Parkway, the Steamboat Explorer’s Club and Incredible Steamboat Sneakers will meet at Soda Creek Elementary.
