Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club development team ends season

— The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club development team finished its season during the weekend, notching multiple top finishes at the Rocky Mountain Division Development Championships in Telluride.

In Friday’s slopestyle event, Samson Schuiling led the way with a first-place finish in the boys J5 division and a third-place finish overall.

Kaden Mendonca was 13th, and Landon Wendler was 14th in the J5 boys.

McKenyon King was 17th in the boys J4, and Andy Schuiling was ninth in the boys J6.

Kensie Radway led Sunday’s moguls, finishing first in the J6 girls.

In the J4 boys, Bridger Boyd landed his first 720 and finished sixth. Tyler Strnad was ninth, Ethan Dyer was 10th, and King was 18th.

In the J5 boys, Samson Schuiling was third, Mendonca was eighth, and Wendler was ninth.

“We couldn’t be happier,” coach Andy Radzavich said. “We’re very proud of the kids. They were all pushing themselves and all performing well.”
