Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests
Hahns Peak/Bears Ears Ranger District
The Hahns Peak/Bears Ears Ranger District is requesting public comment on the proposed remodel of the Storm Peak Lab building, located on the Steamboat Ski Area in T6N, R83W, Sec. 29. The permit holder is the Board of Regents of the Nevada System of Higher Education on behalf of Desert Research Institute. The project would enclose exterior deck space on the first floor w/out a change in the footprint, and add a partial second level to replace the existing shed on the roof.
Public comments received will be considered in the environmental analysis. Anyone interested in this project is encouraged to submit written comments to the Hahns Peak/Bears Ears Ranger District, 925 Weiss Dr., Steamboat Springs CO. 80487. Please direct your comments to Jamie Kingsbury, District Ranger. To ensure consideration in the decision, comments must be received by July 8, 2011.
Respondents should include their name, address, telephone number and organization represented, if any. Please identify Storm Peak Lab in your response. If approved, implementation would begin this summer, 2011. For more information, contact Janet Faller at (970) 870-2174.
