4:38 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were dispatched to a burglary alarm in the 600 block of Yampa Street. It was a false alarm.

8:01 a.m. Routt County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a report of a loose dog at William Road and Tree Haus Drive.

9:20 a.m. Deputies were called to a complaint that a car wasn’t driving safely at mile marker 4 on Routt County Road 129.

9:53 a.m. Police were called to a report of an abandoned car in the 2000 block of Snow Bowl Plaza.

11:47 a.m. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue emergency responders were called to request for an ambulance in the 1500 block of Mark Twain Lane.

11:55 a.m. Hayden Police Department officers were called to a report of theft in the 700 block of East Lincoln Avenue.

1:55 p.m. Division of Wildlife officers were called to a report of a bear in the 1000 block of Pamela Lane. It was gone when officers arrived.

2:19 p.m. Police were called to a report of people selling meat door to door out of a pickup near the 1300 block of Indian Trails. Officers told the sellers they needed a vendor permit and had to move on.

3:17 p.m. Hayden Police Department officers were called to a report of a gas skip in the 200 block of West Jefferson Avenue.

5:08 p.m. Police were called to a report of theft of a bike in the first block of East Maple Street. The bike later was found by its owner.

5:47 p.m. Deputies were called to a report of a drunken driver on Colorado Highway 131 south of Toponas. They coul not find the driver.

6:58 p.m. Police were called to a report of a bear in a Dumpster the night before in the 500 block of Ore House Plaza.

7:05 p.m. Deputies and Steamboat Fire Rescue emergency responders were called to a report of a one-car, noninjury crash in the 30100 block of Colo. 131. A car slid off the road.

7:10 p.m. Police were called to a report of a child yelling and possibly being hit in the first block of Anglers Drive. Police said a child was jumping up and down on a couch.

7:35 p.m. Police were called to a report of a bear cub in a garbage can in the 1400 block of Pine Grove Road. It was gone when officers arrived.

7:49 p.m. Police were called to a noise complaint in the first block of Anglers Drive.

7:58 p.m. Police and Steamboat Fire Rescue emergency responders were called to a request for an ambulance for a woman in her 40s who felt faint. She was taken to Yampa Valley Medical Center.

8:28 p.m. Police were called to a report of a bear in a Dumpster in the 1400 block of South Lincoln Avenue. The bear got out of the Dumpster and left.

8:42 p.m. Deputies and West Routt Fire Protection District emergency responders were called to a fire caused by a blown transformer at an electrical substation at Twentymile Coal Co. in the 29500 block of Routt County Road 27. There were no injuries and authorities suspect an animal might have gotten into the transformer. There could be as $500,000 in damage.

8:55 p.m. DOW officers were called to a report of a bear in the 500 block of Pamela Lane.

10:08 p.m. Police were called to a suspicious car near the 200 block of Howelsen Parkway. People were camping and were asked to move.

10:09 p.m. Police were called to a report of illegal dumping for a couch in the road at Park Avenue and Grand Street. Officers moved the couch and called Steamboat Springs Public Works employees to take it away.

11:13 p.m. Deputies were called to a report of a wounded raccoon on U.S. Highway 40 near Milner.

From bears, you have little to fear We have so many, 'round here. I'm not dinner, at first I make clear Then I scratch 'em, right behind the ear.
