— Edwin Rodriguez, the 15-month-old Steamboat Springs boy who fell into Butcherknife Creek on June 4, was listed in serious condition Sunday afternoon, said Melissa Vizcarra, a spokeswoman for The Children’s Hospital in Denver.

He was reported back in critical condition Friday after his condition improved to fair Thursday.

Steamboat Springs police think Edwin wandered from his home the morning of June 4 and fell into the downtown creek. His grandfather found him in a section of the creek behind the Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant about 400 feet from the family’s home. A witness performed CPR on the boy, and Edwin was taken to Yampa Valley Medical Center before being airlifted to Denver.
