Volunteer judges sought for the Mustang Roundup

The Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association is seeking volunteers for the 23rd annual Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup on June 18. Volunteers will help judge the more than 400 classic Mustang cars from 9:30 a.m. to noon. No experience is necessary, and all volunteers will receive a free 2011 Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup T-shirt. VA issues warning about a potential phone scam

The Department of Veterans Affairs is warning veterans not to disclose personal information over the phone to callers claiming to update, confirm or verify VA-related information, according to a news release. According to the VA, the fraudulent callers are asking for credit card numbers, bank routing numbers and other personal and financial information. A recent call reported included the caller claiming to be a VA employee and stating that the veteran’s medical card has expired.

VA warns veterans to be wary of calls coming from 888-555-1234. Veterans with questions should call the VA at 877-222-8387.

South Routt’s summer reading programs starting

The Summer Reading Program is starting in South Routt County for the Yampa and Oak Creek public libraries. The program is at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays at both libraries through summer.
