12:06 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of a suspicious incident in the 600 block of Yampa Street. A man was kicking a longboard skateboard into the street in front of cars.

1:39 a.m. Police arrested a 38-year-old Steamboat Springs man on suspicion of driving under the influence, driving under revocation for an alcohol-related offense and improper stopping after a traffic stop in the 400 block of South Lincoln Avenue.

1:53 a.m. Police were called to a report of theft in the 700 block of Yampa Street. The man from the 12:06 a.m. call reported that his longboard was stolen.

2:50 a.m. Police were called to a report of a reportedly intoxicated person in the 800 block of Yampa Street. A man passed out in a taxi. Officers woke him up.

3:18 a.m. Police were called to a report of a suspicious car at Ninth and Yampa streets. The man from the 2:50 a.m. call was found sleeping in his truck. Officers left him alone.

6:08 a.m. Oak Creek Police Department officers were called to a report of harassment.

10:48 a.m. Police, Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue emergency responders, Routt County Sheriff’s Office deputies, and Routt County Department of Human Services personnel were called to a report that a 15-month-old child fell into Butcherknife Creek near the alley between Oak and Pine streets and between Sixth and Seventh streets. The child remained in critical condition Sunday in the pediatric intensive care unit at The Children’s Hospital in Denver.

11:27 a.m. Police were called to a report of a juvenile situation in the 800 block of Howelsen Parkway. Children were playing in water flooding a tunnel.

12:05 p.m. Deputies were called to a report of burglary in the 42000 block of First Cast Trail.

12:12 p.m. Police were called to a report of a dog loose in the 1300 block of Dream Island Plaza. The dog was gone when officers arrived.

12:57 p.m. Deputies were dispatched to a burglary alarm in the 31400 block of Willow Creek.

1:37 p.m. Hayden Police Department officers were called to a report of a juvenile situation.

2:11 p.m. Police were called to a complaint about an animal in the 300 block of Lincoln Avenue.

2:24 p.m. Police were called to check the welfare of an elderly man who was walking around confused at Fifth Street and Lincoln Avenue. Officers took him to where he was staying.

2:45 p.m. Police were called to a complaint about an animal at Dream Island Plaza and U.S. Highway 40. Officers could not find the animal.

3:34 p.m. Police were called to a report of vandalism in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive. Officers cited a person for scratching another person’s car with a knife about a parking dispute.

5:45 p.m. Hayden police were called to a report of a drunken driver at mile marker 93 on U.S. 40. Officers could not find the driver.

6:37 p.m. Police were called to a report of a drunken driver from another driver at Eighth Street and Lincoln Avenue. Officers could not find the driver.

7:21 p.m. Police and Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue were called to a request for an ambulance in the 500 block of Rollingstone Drive. Emergency responders took a person to Yampa Valley Medical Center.

9:10 p.m. Hayden police were called to a report of domestic violence.

9:48 p.m. Deputies helped a driver at mile marker 4 on Routt County Road 129.

9:58 p.m. Police were called to a noise complaint in the first block of Copper Rose Court. Officers issued a warning to people shooting fireworks.

10:16 p.m. Deputies were called to a report of a suspicious incident in the 33100 block of C.R. 41.

10:51 p.m. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue was called to a report of a gas leak in the 2900 block of Columbine Drive.

10:58 p.m. Police were called to a noise complaint about loud music in the 900 block of Paloverde Way.

11:27 p.m. Police were called to a suspicious car in the 1000 block of 13th Street. Everything was fine.

Hmm, anyone got a better punchline than that?

Hereandthere, Well, I've heard the argument that alcohol causes enough problems so why would we want to legalize another substance and cause that many more problems.

Of course the counter argument is that with over 1,000 mmj patients in Routt County that if people on mmj were going to cause problems then we would be seeing that by now. And we don't see such a huge increase in problems because there is not that much of an increase of usage, mostly a shift from illegal to legal usage, and that mmj does not affect people the same as alcohol.
