— Former Steamboat Springs School District superintendent Cyndy Simms recently landed a new job leading the San Mateo-Foster City School District in San Mateo County, Calif.

The district announced Simms’ appointment last month. Simms served as Steamboat’s superintendent from 1994 to 2003. She resigned to become superintendent of the Mercer Island (Wash.) School District.

Simms had been serving as interim superintendent for the Los Gatos (Calif.) Union School District when she was hired by San Mateo-Foster, the district said in a news release. It said Simms previously served as superintendent for the Walnut (Calif.) Valley Unified School District and the Placerville (Calif.) Union School District.
