Join us as we come together to celebrate agriculture and ranching at the Ranch Rendezvous. The event is from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Brent Romick Rodeo Arena.
This family-friendly event is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn more about our local ranching and agriculture. A partnership between Community Agriculture Alliance, Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series and Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp, the Ranch Rendezvous demonstrates the interaction and interdependence between area agriculture, the ski industry and local businesses.
A variety of ranching and 4-H animals will be on display along with agricultural displays featuring saddles and tack, hay, alfalfa and straw information. Hands-on experiences will get you up and moving with roping demonstrations and stick horse races for children. Other participating organizations include Routt County CattleWomen, Routt County Weed Department, Routt County 4-H and Community Agriculture Alliance programs Northwest Colorado Products and Northwest Colorado Cultural Heritage Tourism.
So why come to the Ranch Rendezvous with the many choices on how to spend a Saturday evening in our community?
■ If you’re a rancher, land owner, farmer or horseman/woman, you may know just about all there is to know about ranching and agriculture, but maybe you’ll learn something new. If nothing else, stop by and support your fellow ranchers, land owners, farmers and horseman/women.
■ If you’re a skier, biker, fisherman, runner, hunter, kayaker, athlete or generally love taking advantage of the amazing recreational opportunities in the Yampa Valley, come and learn more about those beautiful fields, cattle, sheep and horses you run, ride, float or hike past.
■ It’s free and a great opportunity to learn more about agriculture as a family with hands-on activities.
■ If you’re a visitor or tourist, Ranch Rendezvous is the perfect time to ask questions, meet residents who would love to talk with you and learn everything about agriculture and ranching in the Yampa Valley.
■ If you’re going to the Pro Rodeo Series on Saturday night, come down a little earlier before the rodeo and spend some time checking out the many agricultural displays and booths. Then grab a delicious barbecue dinner at the rodeo and enjoy the evening.
