Kathy Cain: Support available

This Saturday will mark the 38th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision of Roe vs. Wade, which legalized abortion in America. While this issue continues to be a contentious one, I believe both sides can agree that no pregnant woman should be pressured into an abortion that she does not want. This pressure can come from a family member, a spouse or boyfriend, or the woman may feel totally alone with no help or support. There are many sources of help for pregnant girls and women here in the Yampa Valley, including all of our wonderful churches, and specifically the Steamboat Springs Pregnancy Resource Center, whose sole purpose is to assist women in need. They can also help post-abortive women who may need someone to talk to. The people in this valley are known for their warmth and concern; let’s not forget our own.
