— Several Steamboat Nordic skiers registered top finishes Saturday at the Alley Loop Nordic Marathon in Crested Butte.

The 42-kilometer race featured snowy and cold conditions, but with a relatively flat course it featured a pack mentality similar to bike racing.

Tammy Jacques led the way, finishing second in the women’s division, and Megan Gregg was 18th. Barkley Robinson was fourth in the men’s division, with Vincent Hooper 50th.

“I can’t really think of racing or riding my bike right now,” Jacques said. “I can only think of Nordic skiing.”
