Steamboat skier Marno 17th at Junior Worlds

Steamboat Springs Steamboat Springs Alpine skier Anna Marno was the top American finisher Tuesday at the women’s downhill in the FIS Junior World Alpine Ski Championships in Crans-Montana, Switzerland.
Marno finished 17th with a time of 1 minute, 34.21 seconds to lead the opening event for the women.
Norway’s Lotte Smiseth Sejersted won with a time of 1:32.11. Switzerland’s Wendy Holdener was second, with Cornelia Huetter of Austria third.
Fellow U.S. skiers Abigail Ghent and Abby Fucigina were 25th and 38th.
The Alpine Ski Championships continue today with the women’s giant slalom, one of Marno’s best events.
