Guests at the Steamboat Ski Area now have the option of valeting their car during the holiday season.
The valet service is being run by Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp.
For $25, guests can pull up to the passenger unloading zone in the Gondola Transit Center and leave their car with a valet, who will park it in the lower Knoll Parking Lot.
“Valet was an opportunity for us to provide better service during our holiday periods,” Ski Corp. spokeswoman Loryn Kasten said.
She said guests in the past have driven up to the transit center to see if there was a valet option.
The service started Friday and will run through Jan. 1, Kasten said. The service will accept cash and credit cards. Credit cards will be processed in the nearby Steamboat Ski & Sport store.
Kasten said the new service likely will be used by those looking to get to the slopes a little quicker. The gondola and Christie Peak Express lift are a couple hundred yards from the transit center. Kasten also thinks the service will be popular with families who want a shorter walk for their children wearing ski boots and carrying skis.
Guests pay a $10 premium for the valet service. For $15, paid parking continues to be available at the Gondola Square Parking Garage and the Ski Time Square Parking Garage.
Both the upper and lower Knoll Parking Lots will close soon after Jan. 1 to allow for the annual MusicFest at Steamboat. Kasten said the lower lot was closed earlier this year to allow for the valet service.
