Happy birthday to Shelby Brazelton, Judy Hockett, Judy Green, Alyssa Kelton, Heather Wertenberger and Lily Svoboda.

A big thank you to everybody who came down and supported the Friends of the Christmas Tree Auction. It was a good turnout and the community supported 17 nonprofit organizations.

There will be a Health and Awareness Night at Karen Gilroy’s store, All Natural, on Dec. 13. “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead” is a documentary that demonstrates the ability to heal yourself through diet. Stop in at All Natural for more information.

Hayden Vally Elementary School students have been practicing for their Christmas program that will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the high school gym.

The middle school and high school will have their concert at 7 p.m. Thursday in the high school auditorium.

Head on down to the Hayden Congregational Church for a Christmas movie Friday. Popcorn will be served at 6 p.m. with the movie starting at 6:30 p.m.

Students will be on Christmas break from Dec. 19 to Jan. 1.

If you would like to have your home judged for the Tour of Lights, call 970-276-2199. Judging will start at 6 p.m. Dec. 22. Categories for judging are “Most Religious,” “Most Voltage,” “Most Creative Spirit” and “Most Unusual.” If you are 55 or older and would like to help with the judging, call 970-276-2199 and meet the bus at The Haven at 5:45 p.m.

The high school athletic teams are gearing up, and the boys and girls basketball teams will be playing away Friday in North Park.

The wrestling team will be in West Grand on Saturday.

The Phippsburg Community Christmas Party is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the community center. Santa will show up at 7 p.m. Call Charlene for more information at 736-0520.

The Phippsburg Christmas Lighting Contest is from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 19. To have your house judged, stop by the Phippsburg Post Office and fill out a form and leave it in the can.

The South Routt Literacy Society will read “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho. The club meets on the second Tuesday of each month. For more information, call the public library at 970-736-8371.

If you like dog races, mark your calendar for races to be held at Stagecoach on Jan. 7 and 8. More information will be forthcoming.
