STARS adaptive rides take place Friday and Saturday
The Steamboat Adaptive Recreational Sports Bikin’ the Boat charity ride is Saturday. Participants can ride in the 5-mile all-abilities ride or the 26-mile challenge ride. Registration is open at www.steamboatstars.com and the STARS booth at the USA Pro Cycling Challenge finish and start expos Friday and Saturday. The charity ride begins at 11:45 a.m. Saturday from Meadows Parking Lot after the Pro Cycling Challenge riders leave town. The cost is $25 for the all-abilities ride and $50 for the challenge ride. Texas twang returning to MusicFest in January 2012
If January 2012 sounds like a blizzard somewhere over the horizon, be forewarned that Dickson Productions already is ramping up plans for MusicFest and its annual ski season visit to Steamboat.
MusicFest runs Jan. 5 to 10 and a partial lineup of artists has been confirmed, with Shooter Jennings popping out on the list.

Youth Hockey Association equipment swap Sunday
The Steamboat Springs Youth Hockey Association’s annual Hockey Swap is from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Howelsen Ice Arena. Equipment drop-off is from noon to 2 p.m. There will be no shopping allowed until 3 p.m. Equipment not sold must be picked up between 5 and 5:30 p.m. Any equipment not picked up will be considered a donation to the hockey association. Steamboat Little League is in need of donations
