Steamboat Springs The Steamboat Springs High School girls tennis team lost its second match of the season Thursday at Denver East, 5-2.
The Sailors, whose only other loss this year was April 1 against Fossil Ridge, got wins at No. 3 singles from Brooke Metzler and at No. 3 doubles from Alli Lowrie and Rachel Grubbs.
Steamboat is scheduled to play today and Saturday in the Mullen Invitational. The tournament is expected to draw many of the top teams in the state.
The team then plays at Air Academy on April 30 before the regional tournament begins May 5.
