Steamboat briefs: VNA offices closed today in Steamboat and Craig


— Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association’s offices in Steamboat and Craig will be closed today for a staff meeting. The offices will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday.

County Road 179 to close Tuesday north of Oak Creek

The Routt County Road and Bridge Department will close Routt County Road 179 at the 7-N Bridge, north of Oak Creek and about half a mile east of the road’s intersection with C.R. 29, from 7 a.m. Tuesday to 4 p.m. Wednesday to replace the bridge’s deck. Traffic will not be able to pass through the area, and there will be no detour. Call the Road and Bridge Department at 970-879-0831 for more information.

Youth Orchestra registration remains open until Monday

Registration for Youth Orchestra for violin, cello and bass players ends Monday. Youths in Suzuki Book 2 or higher may participate; other instruments may be included. YPN Tour de Forks takes place Thursday, Oct. 1 and 2

The Young Professionals Network’s Tour de Forks fundraiser event is Thursday and Oct. 1 and 2. The public is invited to buy wristbands to receive deals at restaurants in Steamboat Springs. Wristbands are $10 per day or $25 for all three days and are available at the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association visitor center and All That Jazz. Library users can download audio books from website

Digital natives with a Windows 7, 32-bit or 64-bit computer now can download audio books through the Bud Werner Memorial Library’s new audio book platform, NetLibrary. Library card holders can go to the Library’s website at to create an account and download the software onto their computers. Care providers needed for hire for Respite Program

The Yampa Valley Autism Program is seeking care providers for its Respite Program. Respite Program care providers are made available to families of children with autism spectrum disorders and related disabilities for hire to help as needed. Care providers also can participate in programs such as Kids’ Night Out.

The Yampa Valley Autism Program is looking for individuals who have experience with children of special needs. CPR and first aid certifications can be provided if not certified. An hourly rate is provided to all caregivers. Call Kristin at 970-870-4263 or e-mail
