Steamboat briefs: Cause of fire at duplex to be announced next week

Steamboat Springs — Fire Marshal Jay Muhme said a cause determination in the Aug. 14 downtown Steamboat Springs fire likely will be announced next week after insurance and city fire investigators finish their reports.
He said insurance investigators took several items from the house for further analysis.
After they submit a report to him, he will review it and issue his final report.
The fire at Fourth and Oak streets destroyed a duplex and displaced 18 people.
