Isaiah Farnsworth, 31, hit two cows in his Subaru outside the Hogue Ranch, near Steamboat II, shortly after 8:30 p.m. Maureen Hogue confirmed that the cows belonged to her family and said it appears a “fencing issue” allowed the cows onto the highway.
Wildfire south of Hayden 25 percent contained
Two Hot Shot firefighting crews and local firefighters will resume efforts this morning to extinguish a 32-acre fire about 20 miles south of Hayden. The Beaver Flat Fire near Stinsby Reservoir was 25 percent contained by Wednesday evening, U.S. Forest Service spokeswoman Diann Ritschard said. She said crews expect to have the fire fully contained by Friday.
