Humble Ranch fundraiser set for evening of Sept. 11

The annual Humble Ranch Education and Therapy Center fundraiser is from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Sept. 11 at Humble Ranch. The event starts with a dressage and reining demonstration and includes a silent auction, dancing to the band Sundog, dinner and a Humble Horse Parade.

Orchestra still accepting fall program applications

The Steamboat Symphony Orchestra is accepting applications for its fall education sessions. Youth scholarships are available for families in need of financial assistance.

Children’s 5-week pottery classes start next week

After-school beginning and advanced pottery wheel classes for children start Tuesday and Wednesday at Steamboat Arts & Crafts Gym.

Library begins Guys Read book club for boys, dads

Bud Werner Memorial Library introduces the new Guys Read book club for boys (third grade and older) and their dads or older male figure.

The library will host a Guys Read kickoff party at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Teen Project Room for all interested guys.

There will be pizza, and the boys will vote on the Guys Read books for the year.

Guys Read will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month, from October to April in the Library’s Teen Project Room.

Registration and book pick-up will begin at the Kids’ Desk after the kickoff party.
