Class Notes: CNCC announces October classes in Hayden area

— Colorado Northwestern Community College is offering technology for teachers, which will provide instruction about SMART Boards, projectors and teacher-oriented websites. Taught by Greg Pieraccini, the class will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the Hayden High School Business Lab. The registration deadline is Monday. The cost is $40.

CNCC also is offering body sculpting, led by trainer Tammy Workman. The 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday class will run from Monday through Nov. 24 at the Haven Community Center. The registration deadline is Monday. The cost is $112.

Hayden High School plans festivities for homecoming

Hayden High School’s homecoming dance is Saturday, but the school has planned a number of activities throughout the week.

Students will decorate windows Monday and host a chili cook-off from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday night in the high school gym. There’s a bonfire at 8:15 p.m. Thursday after the powderpuff football game. Classes will battle Friday before the 1 p.m. parade, 2 p.m. pep rally and 7:30 p.m. football game. The dance is from 10 p.m. Saturday to 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

Soroco also plans events for homecoming week

Each day next week, South Routt High School students will dress to a different theme and participate in lunch activities as part of homecoming week.

After-school activities begin Monday with a Protect the Citizen Tournament. On Tuesday, the school’s chili cook-off takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday’s powderpuff football game will proceed the 8 p.m. bonfire.

Students will conclude Thursday with a pep rally in preparation for Friday’s 7 p.m. football game. And the “The Incredible Super-Rams” themed homecoming dance is from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
