Steamboat Briefs: Routt County GOP to host noon pig roast next week


The Routt County Repub­lican Party’s barbecue pig roast luncheon for senior citizens is at noon Oct. 8 at the Steamboat Springs Community Center. The luncheon is not Oct.1 as originally planned. Call party chairman Jack Taylor at 970-879-1880 or Chuck McConnell at 970-846-3465.

Soup Bowl Supper tickets are on sale for Wednesday

Tickets for the Soup Bowl Supper on Wednesday are on sale at All That Jazz. Sponsored by the Steamboat Clay Arti­sans, the benefit will raise money for the Yampa River Botanic Park this year. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door, if available. The event typically sells out in advance. Seatings are at 5:30 and 7 p.m. and include a handmade ceramic soup bowl, soup donated by local restaurants, bread, dessert and beverage.

Registration under way for Enrichment Club session

Registration is under way for the second session of the city of Steamboat Springs’ Enrichment Club series. Session 2 clubs include gymnastics, bowling, learn to skate/initiation to hockey, Molly Manners, jewelry making/leather tooling, karate and potter’s wheel. Costs include transportation from Soda Creek or Strawberry Park elementary schools, healthy snacks and supervision by Afterschool Action staff. Clubs begin the week of Oct. 25 and end the week of Dec. 13.
