Steamboat Springs Police still are looking for a Craig man living in South Routt County who reportedly was involved in a burglary and fight Sunday night.
A man and a woman from Yampa were arrested early Monday in connection with the incident in Dream Island, but detectives said they still are looking for the alleged ringleader.
Steamboat Springs Police Department Detective Nick Bosick said Elijah Mountain Douglas, 25, and Candy Jean Harnett, 35, showed up at about 5 p.m. Sunday at a Dream Island residence with another man. The trio reportedly entered the home, with four people inside, to retrieve clothing.
The confrontation escalated to a fistfight, with about 12 punches thrown among three people, Bosick said. Minor injuries were reported.
After Harnett, Douglas and the other man left, Bosick said, they reportedly were heading to another house for another confrontation. Routt County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived at that house, but the trio did not arrive.
Police arrested Harnett on suspicion of first-degree burglary, driving under revocation and driving with an expired registration. Douglas was booked on suspicion of first-degree burglary, felony menacing, criminal mischief and harassment. Both were released Monday on $2,000 bail each.
