Joe DeAngelo undecided about undersheriff job

Steamboat Springs Joe DeAngelo, the former investigator for the 14th Judicial District, remains undecided about whether he will accept Sheriff-elect Garrett Wiggins’ offer to be his undersheriff. DeAngelo said Monday that he will make a decision by Dec. 10.
Wiggins asked the Routt County Board of Commissioners last week to approve a higher starting salary for DeAngelo should he accept the job. The commissioners approved Wiggins’ request to pay DeAngelo $79,539 a year.
DeAngelo is now an investigator for the Colorado Attorney General’s Office, a position he has called a “dream job.”

Why not just get some one that is already working law enforcement in our area,that has a life here ,,and an interest to make the area better ?,Rather than someone who has already chosen another area and profession?How about Bostick?I voted for him over Wiggens,(then I voted for Wiggens)now it would make sense since he(Bostick) was such a popular contendor, to ask him to do the job.I think he is fair, intelligent ,honest ,level headed. After all, elections will be back around someday and if you make a strong efficent working team,you might even hang on to the job for a long period of time .I dont like the idea of a job applicant calling the shots for this position ,its creepy,too much drama.It make' s Garret Wiggens look weak and out of control.

Well, if Wiggins should bring in his close contenders then the obvious choice would be to retain Bustos because Wiggins barely beat Wall.

Wasn't Wall a "close contender?" Wiggins should bring in Wall for $79,539 per annum.
I would be worth it just for the entertainment value.
On the next episode of "Soap" ...

I think Garrett should go with Aich's suggestion of Kevin Nerney. He was recently rescued from "the woods". Kevin sounds like he is all warmed up now and ready to roll !

EVERYONE should GOOGLE Joseph DeAngelo, Fort Wayne, Indiana police officer, read about the unethical, immoral and deceitful actions he has commited and decide if you want more garbage in our town.
DeAngelo--#1 claimed to be / impersonated an attorney;
#2 strongly discouraged someone to consult a REAL attorney under the threat of a very long prison sentence if she did not commit prostitution to entrap someone that DeAngelo had a personal grudge against; This happened when the accused said she wanted to consult her attorney. DeAngelo then replied saying "WE ARE THE ATTORNEYS" , referring to himself and the other officer.
#3 Allowed and assisted a local ex-police officer to change his self-incriminating, written statement that would have proven his guilt of felony theft of department owned firearms and embezzlement;
#4 then assisted and recommended this person in being hired by the Moffat County Sheriff
#5 closed without prosecution, a solid case of arson and forgery;
#6 ignored a case of a government employee selling drugs from a government office and while on the government timeclock / payroll.
As promised earlier, more to come.
If DeAngelo disputes any of this, let him step forward and defend himself and these accusations. If Wiggins does not change his position on DeAngelo, we should change our position on who we want for our sheriff.

Justice,
That is how they work.
Their is nothing shocking about your comment.
If you think judges, ( thankfully not all of them! ) deputies and the DA's office are all honest and law abiding people - your sadly mistaken!

Justice4all,
Someone could google DeAngelo and compare that reality to your comments and decide that you are just as bad as he is.

i have to agree that Kevin Nerney would be the ideal choice for many reasons!

Spruce,
The decision of who will be the undersheriff is entirely up to Garrett.
There is nothing we can do.
Please keep in mind Kevin was Aich's choice from a past comment he posted.
Aich, explain your comment!
