Mainstreet Steamboat Springs hosts Light Up the Night, the annual, holiday-season lighting of trees downtown. Children can sit with Santa Claus, and all can enjoy hot chocolate and cookies provided by local restaurants, sing carols with the Jewel Singers and register to win Downtown Dollars for local shopping. The tree lighting is at 6:30 p.m., followed by a drop of ping-pong balls from a fire truck bucket above the lawn. The balls will contain offers from downtown merchants. FREE.
