Church collecting gifts for Operation Christmas Child

Concordia Lutheran Church will serve as a collection point for Operation Christmas Child again this year. Through Operation Christmas Child, Steamboat Springs residents will help send shoe box gifts to more than 8 million children in 100 countries suffering from natural disaster, war, terrorism, disease, famine and poverty. From Steamboat Springs, the shoe box gifts will be sorted and sent to suffering children around the world.

Operation Christmas Child uses tracking technology that allows donors to watch the box go to the destination country, where it will be delivered to a child in need. To register shoe box gifts and find out what country they are delivered to, use the EZ Give donation form found at

Concordia hopes to collect 400 boxes this year. The church will accept the boxes from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 15 to 19 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 20 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 21. Details about what to pack in the boxes are at
