Commissioners get feedback with legal counsel Thursday

The Moffat County Commission met Thursday afternoon with county attorneys Kathleen Taylor and Jeremy Snow to examine options regarding medical marijuana dispensaries within the county. The county’s six-month moratorium on dispensaries ends June 15.

Steamboat's Winter Sports Club cycling team rolls into a new season

Riders fare well in Nathrop

The members of the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club’s elite cycling program are geared up and already rolling on a new season. Program director Ben Clark said the team has been training since April and recently returned from the Chalk Creek Stampede in Nathrop with several top results.

Steamboat Springs School Board member Laura Anderson said she met Nancy Mucklow 10 years ago when the two volunteered at Strawberry Park Elementary School. For Mucklow’s years of giving back to the district, the School Board on Monday approved her as the 2009-10 Friend of Education.

Chelsea’s could reopen in Oak Creek

Chelsea’s Restaurant in Oak Creek could reopen as early as next week, owner Andy Benjamin said Wednesday. The restaurant closed in late 2009 because of economic difficulties, but Benjamin said an unnamed financial backer would like to see the business open for the busy summer months.
