Steamboat briefs: Steamboat Players holding auditions for ‘Seussical’

The Steamboat Players are holding auditions for the August production of “Seussical.” Acting auditions are from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Sunday, and music auditions are from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday.
Auditions are at the Depot Art Center on 13th Street. Actors don’t need to bring anything, but singers need to bring an up-tempo prepared song with sheet music.

Registration now open for Steamboat summer camps
Registration is open for the city of Steamboat Springs’ Summer Camps and Mini-sprouts programs. Get your children outside this summer enjoying the Yampa Valley and all it has to offer as part of the city’s licensed summer camp and pre-school programs. Activities for camp include swimming, bowling, biking, hiking, canoeing, camping, mini-golf and more.
The Summer Camp is for children 5 years old through sixth grade, and the cost is $30 a day. The camp runs from 7:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. weekdays. Mini-sprouts is available for 3- to 5-year-olds from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for $15 a day. Youth organization looking for some backcountry gear
Rocky Mountain Youth Corps is looking for donations of quality backcountry gear. Needed items include sleeping bags, tents, sleeping pads and backpacks. Call Sheila at 879-2135, ext. 1.
