ACET arrests 2 during drug bust Tuesday in Steamboat
Suspects accused of selling $5,400 of meth to undercover cop
Thursday, May 20, 2010
Steamboat Springs The All Crimes Enforcement Team on Tuesday arrested two people suspected of bringing methamphetamine from Denver and selling it in Steamboat Springs and Craig.
ACET officers, in cooperation with Steamboat Springs Police Department officers, arrested 42-year-old Valerie Ruth Guevara, of Craig, and 25-year-old Raymond Anthony Gonzales, of Denver, for allegedly selling $5,400 worth of meth to an undercover officer.
Guevara, who also reportedly goes by Valerie Farley, and Gonzales were charged with distribution of a Schedule 2 controlled substance and money laundering. Both are felonies. ACET Commander Garrett Wiggins said a money laundering charge can be added to almost any arrest involving a drug deal.
Wiggins said Tuesday’s arrests represented the culmination of a monthlong investigation, and he said there could be more arrests as a result of the bust. He declined to provide more information because he said some of the arrests could involve juvenile suspects. He also said he was finalizing the charges against Guevara and Gonzales and that additional charges could be added before their cases head to court.
Wiggins said Gonzales reportedly sold the drugs to Guevara, who then sold them to an undercover officer. He said the $5,400 was for 3 ounces of meth. At $1,800 per ounce, Wiggins said that’s more expensive than gold, which listed Wednesday at about $1,200 per ounce.
The deal reportedly took place in Steamboat, and the two were arrested on Whistler Road.
Guevara and Gonzales remained in custody at the Routt County Jail on Wednesday evening.

Glad to see ACET resources being used where the community needs them most... instead of being used to dress up officers in hazmat space suits to handle some weed plants.
Good Work!

Shame??!!??!! Pray tell, what shame have either of us brought upon ourselves by skipping the preliminary commentary about a bust that involves a bunch of retarded meth-heads(double negative, I know)? I have nothing to say about meth, other than those that use it(in any capacity) are stupid and must be suicidal to a degree. The only shame that I can see would be to loop any other drug in with the likes of meth. Having never experienced meth first-hand, I'm only speaking from an outside point of view. However, having seen the effects that it's had on numerous individuals, I can confidently assert that there isn't a human being on the planet that truly needs whatever it is that meth has to offer them. I, too, applaud our law enforcement officers for every single meth-head that they bring down. Bravo gentlemen(and ladies?)!

This must be the reason for the slow down of posts on various stories on this site.

ACET cut off the source of a lot of the incoheearent ranting and raving that goes on. No meth to stay up all day and night imagining government conspiracies, utopian societies, road projects that go perfectly etc.
